Daily Devo: Day 2, Today’s Forcast is Mundane, with a 100% Chance of Miraculous

“Dramatic, Life-changing moments are few and far between. The rest of our lives we live in the common, ordinary mundane. So why is it that we hold onto hope that “this, too, shall pass” When it comes to the humdrum of everyday life? I think its because we forget the significance of today in the scope of eternity. The opportunity for growth in holiness lies in the mundane. Right in front of your face- sitting in the tepid dishwasher, festering in the laundry basket, at your crowded dinner table, and under the carseat where your toddler stashed his leftover granola bar for later. Sure, fuzzy mold might be growing there, but in these moments is also where growth in holiness happens. If we’re reading passages like Titus 2 as a mere To-Do list then we’re missing the point. Those godly character traits and behavior are the fruits that grow out of the soil of “sound doctrine” (Verse 1). We are also given the Gospel our motivation for these things (vv 5,10). And motivation can’t be written on an index card- it must be written on our heart. Our hearts are transformed and anchored by grace (vv. 11-14). How will living in the reality of this gospel and God’s grace change the way you see things to provide you with opportunities for growth in holiness? Dirty dishes in the sink or red crayons smashed into an electrical socket by your 2 year old are not just worrisome ordeals in your otherwise uneventful day. They’re opportunities to see the miracles happen.”

Titus 2:1-14

Todays devotional gives us mommys the encouragement that even when our children throw a fit because they didn’t get what they wanted, spill milk all over the floor, or mess up their room after you both cleaned it is just a place for growth in holiness. Its an opportunity for us as moms to look at this situation and instead of getting upset to look at it with grace and holiness. When we really change our mindsets and not always get frustrated with our children but really ask God for Wisdom and understanding to how we can use this opportunity for the better, think of how much your times like these will turn more into love and peace instead of anger and frustration. Look around today and know that every situation in your life can be turned into an opportunity for growth in holiness.

Daily Devotional: A bucket of ice water splashed onto a sleepy soul.

“We need a wakeup call to see how abiding in Jesus cannot be restricted to an easy chair with a cup of hot coffee in a quiet house without any noise or clutter of life. We need to have our minds renewed according to the gospel. We often feel overwhelmed with the busy-ness of what is happening within the four walls of our home. But come circus or solitude, it makes no difference in the sufficiency of Christ to abide in you. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly today, and ask the Lord to keep your eyes of your heart open.”

Colossians 3:16

Daily Devo: Purposefully Made

God uniquely created your DNA and knit your frame in secret so He could surprise the world. He authored how your heart expresses itself; He was the architect of your smile and the melody of your voice; He made all of your features with the fondest thoughts of only you in mind. He celebrated along with your parents your first smile and watched with affection your first steps. Because of the tender, international care, there are multiple facets of your life the express and reflect His love uniquely. He wove all these exceptional aspects and specific talents into the package of you, His daughter. He knew each attribute would be expressed best through your feminine form.He knew you would represent and relate to him best as a daughter. this is the very reason He chose female for your gender. There is a very tender bond between fathers and daughters. He didn’t have another daughter in mind when he fashioned you… you are his delight. This means you wouldn’t be a better carrier of the love He has entrusted to you id you were a male. God does not love sons more and daughters less. Nor does he love each gender equally. He love male and female uniquely. Perhaps as you grew up you heard whispers, or even shouts, that your father or mother wished you were born a son. Maybe there was a time you’d wished you’d be born a male too, but know this… God never did. Our Father rejoiced when you drew your first breath, and as the years unfolded, the angels of heaven rejoiced with Him when you were reborn as His spirit-quickened daughter. Marvelously loved one, there is absolutely nothing accidental about you.

Daily Devo: Stop trying to protect yourself and be all in.

In marriage, you truly get what you give. We get so much more when we give our spouses our all, are all in no matter what. So go ahead: jump into the deep end, and get in over your head! You will find God is there with you every inch of the way.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5

Daily Devotional: Faith

None of this, stepping out in faith, following our dreams, or even letting dreams die is without pain. That is why it is so difficult. It takes courage to take the beautiful risk of following a dream without a guaranteed outcome; it takes even more boldness to follow the dream without knowing whether you can except the outcome. true bravery recognizes the need to release our vision and even our desire to control as much as possible, so our dreams can be fulfilled as God sees fit. it takes real trust to believe God us the author of the dreams even if they don’t play out the way we hope they will, even if stories this side of heaven fall short of happily ever after. Because we serve a great God, we can find the strength to trust that his goodness will win out, somehow, someway and sometime.

Daily Devotional: Beauty

“Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. you should cloth yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which is so precious to God.

1 Peter 3:3

Wow! what powerful words to live by! As woman of God we should always know that “an unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit” is much more beautiful that makeup and the best fashion sense. Its pleasing to the Lord. Let us be encouraged by these words today. dome compare yourselves to others but live a life full of the Lord, because that it all you will ever need.

Daily Devotional: Speak kindness instead of just telling it like it is.

Today we often here that we have to be brutally honest in marriage. Yet the word says that reckless words “pierce like a sword”. Instead of letting brutal honesty to hurt our spouse, we can choose to discipline our tongue. There will be times where we need to have a hard conversation, but that is when we need to be most carful to protect the heart of the person who means the most to us. That is when we need to be the most careful to not just speak the truth, but speak the truth in love. No matter what is going on in our lives, we can decide to be respectful to our spouses in public and in private. Even better, we can look for opportunities, everyday, to be more like Christ towards our spouses, and speak words of life. Kindness should be a way of life in our marriages.

Proverbs 18:21 : The tongue can bring death or life; this who love to talk will reap the consequences.

Ephesians 4:15 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.

Proverbs 12:18 Some people make cutting remarks, but the word of the wise bring healing.

Daily Devotional: Worshiping Holy

God is Holy. He is altogether separate in existence and in disclosure, He is unto Himself, Though He is involved in the cell division process of every living organism, He is still the King on the throne, whose no one can see and live dwelling in the unapproachable light. He is in an entirely different domain and He exists unto Himself.  What man or the angels know about Him is only as much as He has revealed about Him. He is the mystery despite revelation and in not fully exhaustible in His discloser by anyone else but Himself.

1 Peter 1:15-16: But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am Holy.
