I Am A New Creation

COLOSSIANS 3:3

For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Letting go and letting God

Sometimes in life we have to let go of things we can’t control. As humans it’s our natural state to want to control everything, but sometimes having control may cause bitterness, anger, and loneliness. When you allow God to take ahold of whatever it is that your trying to control burdens will be lifted off your shoulders and there is joy and peace that comes with it. I have recently been dealing with some issues that God has told me to let go of. Have they been hard??? Yes! But when I fully and I mean fully let him have it, he took it from me and I began to feel joy and Peace over that situation. I can truly say it has been the best decision I have made! Someone mentioned to me recently that the number 17 means victory! And I’m believing for anyone who is reading this, if you have had a rough 2016 or a rough start to 2017 I declare that 2017 is going to be your year of Victory!!’ This is your year!!!!’ Amen!

Daily Devotional: Planting your Garden for a Fruitful Harvest.

“You have been born again no of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is through the living and abiding word of God. For, All flesh is like grass, The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the Word of the Lord abides forever. And this is the word which is preached to you.” 1 Peter 1:23-25

In his letter to the church in Ephesus, Paul tries to help believers comprehend the incomprehensible inheritance they have been given when they were adopted into the family of God! We all have been given so much more than we know what to do with, and unfortunately much of what we have remains locked up in the tower of silos because we don’t understand what it means to be in “him” Until we access our abundant inheritance by faith, it will lie there dormant and asleep, producing no life and no fruit. Lets raid this silos, take those seeds, plant them in fertile soil and reap an extravagant harvest! We must ask God to plant his word into our hearts, and then live it out by faith. The bible declares that faith is a gift, obtained “through hearing and hearing through the word of God” Romans 10;17. We must put ourselves in the position to “hear” Gods word by spending time in Gods word, studying his word by choosing to believe in it and live according to it in the power of the Holy Spirit. When we do, we are planting seeds of righteousness in our hearts that will bring forth a harvest of righteousness .

Let us be encouraged this week that we have the opportunity to plant great seeds and watch them grow into great harvest. When we choose to spend more time with the Lord and grow in his word we will begin to start seeing a harvest! I love the part in the devo where it says ” Until we access our abundant inheritance by faith, it will lie dormant and asleep, producing no fruit and no life.” lets take that step of faith this week and meditated on what he is trying to say to us through his word and believe it, receive it, by faith and wait and see that harvest bloom.

Juice Cleanse Day 1

Day 1 of my juice cleanse was a little hectic. My first drink was a purple ninja.

IMG_4203

It has 2 beets, 1 cucumber, 1 cup of blueberries and a cup of pomegranate juice. it was super yummy and I drank it periodically through out the morning. While I was consuming this drink, I started making my drinks for lunch and dinner. The 2nd drink I made was a Citrus orange drink.

This drink had Grapefruit, 1 apple, 1 lemon, and a pinch of ginger. I had to make this drink twice.. because i put a little too much ginger and it had a huge kick to it. so I suggest only many grading the ginger and putting a pinch! it tasted so much better!  this drink lasted me all through out the afternoon, just in time for dinner. which lead to my 3rd drink.

this 3rd drink was made with 2 beets, 1 apple, 2 carrots, 1 lemon and a pinch of ginger. What i have learned is drinking these drinks periodically through the day. I prepare these drinks and store them in the fridge and through the day pour me some in a smaller cup and drink as I please. The reason why i say that my first day was pretty hectic was Im learning how to acquire the taste for these juices, some where delishhhhh and the others were plain nasty.. so for day 2 I will play around with the fruits and figure out which ones taste great together and which ones don’t. Im not going to like all of them but i can at least get to a point where I can acquire the taste! So far day 1 was a little crazy.. but I know day 2 will be a lot better!

Daily Devo: United with Christ but Lonely for Friends

Many homemakers lament over a lack of genuine friendships. While we have acquaintances we talk to as we go about our business in our community, these relationships tend to be mostly shallow and circumstantial. At the end of the day we feel disconnected, even as we scroll through hundreds of photos and comments on social media. We sincerely desire to invest in friendships where we can practice the “one another’s” from Scripture. So, if the desire is there, why don’t we have the relationships we crave? Beyond the sin nature that we all share, there may be a genuine lack of time that is necessary for friendships. We all need to examine ourselves to see if we’ve misplaced our priorities. I don’t know about you, but I could write my own name next to several reasons (including misplaced priorities). The first person I think about in the morning is me. I go about my day focused on preserving the dignity of me. I prioritize my day and night according to what I think I need. And I go to bed at night wondering how to make tomorrow all about me. Who would ever want to be my friend?  Having freedom in Christ means that we can be free from the sin that comes between friends. Friends who have been estranged or are different can be united in Christ. Everything changes when we see how he loves us! When we see that we have been befriended by God through the gospel and abide in his love, we can in turn ask him for the help we need to be a friend to others.

I have had the privilege of having the best friends in my life. But there is one in perticulat that I will always cherish forever! I met her when I was 15 years old. At first we weren’t close friends, I really didn’t like her.. and she really didn’t want to be my friend.. but through the years we learned a lot about each other, we got to know one another and began to grow closer. After 12 years of friendship, we are closer than ever.. Chelsey Larson and I have been through the fire, we have had our ups and downs (What friendship doesn’t) I’ve been there for her when life gets her down and she has also been there for me, God knows how many times! We’ve had many wonderful laughs, and laughed so hard we couldn’t breath… I love her, she is my sister, and no matter where this life takes us, I know we will never depart. We have built a relationship that will not waiver. God knew what he was doing when he placed us together. I love you girl! No matter what!!!

“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13

When you have a special friendship in your life like the one the Lord has ordained it’s the best friendship you can ever have. And if you haven’t found that friend yet, be patience, pray and really ask the Lord to send you someone who will uplift you, encourage you, love you, and be there for you no matter what!!!

A Sprinkle of Jesus

I came across this awesome app called “A Sprinkle of Jesus” it has fun things like a Bible, Blog, connects groups and so much more! If you get a chance search for this app for your android or apple device and i promise, it will be the best thing you do all day! Todays Verse of the day is Matthew 8 ” Jesus came down the mountain with the cheers of the crowd still ringing in his ears. Then a leper appeared and went to his knees before Jesus, Praying Master, if you want to, you can heal my body. Jesus reached out and touched him saying, I want to. Be clean. Then and there, all signs of the Leprosy were gone. Jesus said, Don’t talk about this all over town, just quiet present your healed body to the priest, along with the appropriate expressions of thanks to God. Your cleansed and grateful life, I have done.”

Be encouraged this evening and go along appreciating the Lord for all he has done, don’t go boasting about things, but be grateful and humble for everything he is and will do in your life!

The Girl In Jeans

You can always tell a girl by her jeans.. whether they  are skinny, have tares, if they flare or bootcut.. the style of a girls jeans can go by her mood. For example. There are time I feel punk rockish, so I put on my white washed ripped jeans on with some cute converse and I’m all set, other days I want to feel comfy so I put on some cute boyfriend jeans, with a low heel. Whatever the mood… will always be the jeans. What kind of jean mood are you in?

Daily Devo: The Power of Parables

Bridesmaids, sweeping, baking, seeds, birds, gardening, landlords, and neighbors—Jesus talked about all kinds of mundane things. He used these parables about mundane things to make a point—many points, actually, about his Father and what his kingdom is like. The parables of Jesus revealed things, shedding light on the mundane moments of our lives and made us see ourselves in God’s story. He also used parables to emphasize that his teachings were concealed from people who were blind and deaf to the things of God (Matthew 13:13).  The mundane moments of our lives at home are replete with examples and living illustrations for us to behold the glory of Jesus. That’s why we don’t need to avoid our ordinary-ness. And we ought not spend our energy worshiping the stuff in our lives, either. God is holy and he fellowships with us as we are in the midst of our every day lives. The Son of God entered his own creation, after all.  This is a good opportunity for us to test ourselves. Do we have eyes to see and ears to hear what God would teach us about himself and his kingdom? Or are we focused on ourselves and our stuff? We should frequently ask ourselves (and ask our friends to ask us as well), is your role or identity as a homemaker or mother the object of your affections? Do you lose your cool when that identity is threatened? Are you a slave to building or maintaining your image?  We need to remember that life in the body, when presented to the Lord as a living sacrifice because of his mercy, is holy and acceptable in his sight.

Love this! Are we willing to put aside our flesh and listen to what Gods trying to teach us through the mundane things in life? Or are we going to stay focused on our stuff? I challenge you to ask yourself that question today??? Do we have eyes to see and ears to hear?? Listen to what the Lord is saying today!
